Mark Cloutier, MPP, MPH  | Chief Executive Officer and Corporate Officer, Caminar

Mark Cloutier became CEO of Caminar on January 31, 2019.

Mark has dedicated his career to increasing access to quality health and supportive services for underserved communities and improving the overall health and well-being of individuals and families. He brings to Caminar extensive experience in organizational leadership, fundraising, financial and talent management, public policy, and strategy development. Prior to joining Caminar, Mark held leadership roles in major health organizations and foundations, including Horizons Services, the San Francisco Foundation, the Center for Youth Wellness, Kaiser Family Foundation, and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

As CEO, Mark leads a $39M organization of close to 500 employees serving more than 20,000 people annually in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California.

A longstanding Bay Area resident, Mark is a graduate of Lewis and Clark College and earned his Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Health degrees at the University of California at Berkeley. He has authored a number of articles and recently co-authored “Prevent, Screen, Heal: Collective Action to Fight the Toxic Effects of Early Life Adversity.”

Mark also serves on the Board of Directors of Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation.

Karen Gianuario  | Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Officer, Caminar

Karen Gianuario joined the organization in September 2013 as Senior Director of Business Development and Operations. She brings over 25 years of experience in the private, for-profit sector from her tenure at See’s Candies, where she held positions of progressive management responsibility in the areas of procurement, operations, product, and product line development. Karen served as the Director of Procurement for her final 10 years with the company.

Kristy Adams, AMFT, MAT | Program Director, Olivos

As the newly-appointed Program Director, Kristy will continue the thoughtful and considered work that Olivos provides to clients and families. Building a strong and varied team around each client and creating an individualized treatment of care is the hallmark of the Olivos program. These core traditions and values will continue, and we will also adapt to the changing needs of the families we serve.

Before assuming the role of Program Director, Kristy served as a Clinical Manager at Olivos. As Clinical Manager, Kristy was responsible for working with clients in their homes and communities to manage their needs and goals, whilst also supporting families and providing guidance on how best to care for a loved one coping with mental health challenges.

Before assuming her role at Olivos, Kristy spent almost five years as a Program Coordinator for Caminar Jobs Plus in San Francisco and as a Case Manager for our New Ventures Program.  Prior to joining Caminar, Kristy worked for the State of California providing vocational support to people with disabilities. She also enjoyed a career in advertising in San Francisco as an account executive and spent 5 years as an elementary school teacher in New York City. Her varied education and professional experience have all contributed to her skill and passion for helping others realize their goals of living fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Kristy received her BA in History and English from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and Masters of Teaching and Masters of Counseling Psychology degrees from the University of San Francisco.

Cathy Mathews, MA | Therapist, Olivos

Cathy Mathews is a somatic and mindfulness-based therapist who works with a wide variety of presenting issues.  She supports clients to move toward their own goals by helping them to increase awareness, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression and find a stronger and less reactive version of themselves.  She holds a masters degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies and has extended additional training in experience-based methods of psychotherapeutic change. Cathy is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #110219, supervised by LCSW 27396.
